Location, Location, Location!

While many people and even residents think Wellen Park is in Venice, it is technically in North Port, just barely outside Venice.

From Center Road traveling south on River Road (still in Venice), a quick turn onto West Villages Pkwy or Tamiami Trail will take you straight to the downtown area, and you'll never even know you're not technically in Venice anymore!

For those who are headed back up Tamiami Trail after having the best day at one of the many beautiful nearby beaches, you can get to Downtown Wellen Park in about 20 minutes.

This makes Downtown Wellen Park easily accessible whether you're in Venice or North Port.

If you live a life of adventure, fun times await at Downtown Wellen Park's 80-acre Grand Lake!

If you have your own kayak or small, non-motorized vessel, you can carry it down to the kayak launch site and paddle your heart out - FREE!

If you don't own your own kayak, don't worry! Kind Vibes Outfitters located in Downtown Wellen Park offers kayak rentals by the hour or day.

If kayaking isn't your thing, they also offer other rental options such as e-bikes for you to ride all around the nearly 4 miles of walking and biking trails.

Shopping

If shopping is more your cup of tea, Downtown Wellen Park has a number of conveniently-located shops that are definitely worth checking out.

They are all walkable to and from one another and offer easy access to the walking trails right across the street.

Restaurants

After working up an appetite on your kayak or on the biking trails, Downtown Wellen Park has multiple restaurants to choose from.

Whether you're looking for a delicious food truck option, or a more formal dining setting, Wellen Park's food scene will not disappoint! Honestly, we've had great experiences at all the restaurants in Wellen Park, so it's hard to pick a favorite!

We really like The Banyan House and Oak & Stone if you are having a hard time deciding.

Wellen Park Golf & Country Club

If you're a golfer, like me, check out Wellen Park Golf & Country Club. This semi-private course is open to the public and also has membership options.
